Footpaths

Porto Santo offers a kind of alternative trip for those who want to explore walking trails.

And if you don't like it, or don't want to extend your body on the beach all day long, you'll certainly enjoy exploring “Pico Branco” and “Terra Chã” footpaths, which are recommended in the north-eastern part of the island. You just have to get to the beginning, but the best way is by car, although you can do it by bike, if you're a top-level athlete.
The path, which bifurcates itself in two, at a given moment, was used for the route taken to the barley fields there, being a surprise at every moment. Or because the landscapes are increasingly beautiful, or because it is not expected that there is a Porto Santo so different.
The trail is an inviting 2.5 kilometres long to the farthest point from the regional road, but you can do both, as they are only a few hundred metres away from each other and, in total, you will not have walked more than 5.4 kilometres. Enjoy and discover a paradise inside another.
